Country Wireless began in 2004, with the collaboration of college students Clint and Curt. Growing up on farms in the Rozellville/Rangeline area in Central Wisconsin, they soon realized the limitations of dial-up—the only Internet service available at that time to residents and businesses there. Long-time friends, they had frequently collaborated to create and invent things.
At the University of Wisconsin—Stout, Clint was majoring in Telecommunications, and Curt in Technology Education. Using their knowledge, ingenuity, creativity, and hard work, they built access points-mounting antennas to existing structures available to them: silos, feed mills, and water towers. With those first tenuous network transmissions, Country Wireless was truly a pioneer in providing high-speed wireless Internet to small communities like Rozellville, Rangeline, and Pittsville.
They had a vision of providing service to all the surrounding areas, but could never have imagined that they would one day cover well over a thousand square miles!
Country Wireless has continued to grow rapidly, to meet the needs of rural, residential, and businesses customers, connecting them at high speed to the world beyond. With a strong reputation for dependable, quality service, we have brought our service to thousands of people!
